Course Objectives

The participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of the PM Framework
  • Learn how to apply these concepts, tools and techniques in implementing his or her project
  • Learn how to apply practices on project planning, project charter, work breakdown structures, scheduling, estimating, contracting, risk, quality, among other topics.
Please note Special Class limiting the audience to real estate, engineering, construction, utility, and oil and gas industries.

DESCRIPTION

This course will provide the participants with an overview of the fundamentals concepts of project management per the framework provided by PMI generally accepted practices, as highlighted in the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), third edition. The Foundation version will include group exercises to demonstrate some of the concepts. In addition to the course manual, SUKAD will provide each candidate with original copies of the PMBOK® Guide.

Trainer Profile:


Mr. Ajam is an executive with more than 20 years of experience in the engineering, construction, petroleum, and the project management industries. His experience spans the globe while working with top organizations in various project management and leadership roles. He has extensive expertise working on various challenging small and mega projects.  Mr. Ajam holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering and Construction Management from the top ranking University of California at Berkeley and he is also a graduate of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) prestigious Leadership Institute Masters Class.

As a volunteer leader, Mounir has served the project management community in the region and globally with various roles like: 2008 PMI EMEA Congress Project Action Team (CoPAT), 2005 regional director for certification and training, 2005-2007 PMI REP Advisory Group, etc. Most recently, Mr. Ajam has led the founding of the Global Project and Process Management Association launching from the UAE to the World.

 Mr. Ajam has also contributed to the project management via numerous publications and speaking engagement across Europe, United States, South America, and the Middle East. He is currently an International Correspondent for PMForum and PMWorldToday, two leading web portals dedicated to promoting project management and has contributed to the UAE based Dubai Quality Group publications and Construction Week.
