A History of Project Management Service Distinction

 

Pre-Launch

SUKAD FZ-LLC is the second generation of a company with the first one operated in Houston, Texas, United States of America, between 1998 and 2000. Through the first company, we provided project management control services for a joint venture that was building two petrochemical plants in Texas, mega projects. The company founder and leader was Mr. Mounir Ajam.

Mr. Ajam moved back to West Asia at the end of 2000, and his thoughts were always on restarting the company to provide the same services in the Arabic speaking region. Early in 2004, we made the decision to proceed with the new company with an initial focus on learning solutions; project management training, primarily due to the huge gap that existed in the market in term of quality and highly qualified providers.

Setting Up

A few friends wanted to join in this new venture, and the group reached a partnership agreement to launch SUKAD in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We registered SUKAD at the Dubai Knowledge Village  on August 11, 2004 as an Innovation Center.

Between August 2004 and December 2005, SUKAD services were limited to providing in-house services to private clients, with our first client being the Saudi Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu.

2005 to 2010

In the summer of 2005, Mr. Ajam moved to Dubai as the company’s Chief Executive Officer and launched project management consultancy and project management training services in late 2005. In the early months of our operations, SUKAD won a few contracts from major regional organizations, such as Dubai Holding  Business Excellence in Dubai and the National Commercial Bank in Saudi Arabia. That early success was primarily due to Mr. Ajam reputation in the field of project management and the Partnering-Collaboration network that SUKAD had in place from the beginning.

Since the summer of 2005, the company has grown from a single employee to about ten including two principal consultants, successfully delivered hundreds of projects, serving thousands of professionals and executives, and our client list includes many of the who’s who in the GCC and West Asia.

At this time, SUKAD is highly regarded as a leading provider of project management solutions, has pioneering and extensive research and development program that is unique in the region, and host an outstanding and diversified portfolio of project and process management solutions. We have developed The SUKAD Way™, our unique approaches for project management (PM Methodology) and organizational project management (SUKAD Maturity Model).
